apkey detects v1 (JAR), v2 (APK Signature Scheme v2), and v3 (rotation). It displays the certificates, fingerprints, and algorithms for each signer.

What signing scheme does apkey use when re-signing?

Accepted Answer

apkey re-signs with v1 (JAR signing) using SHA-256. For apps that must target Android 11+ with scheme v2/v3, you should additionally run apksigner from the Android SDK.
